Jig heads 3/8 to 1/2 oz question

Hey guys,

Maybe its just the season, but I cannot for the life of me find these jig head weights. Looking to insert them into a tube (like for bass). I'd like the gami or owner type hooks and am not looking to spend 8 dollars for 5 jigs. Okay, maybe they're not that much. Just looking for the best bang for the buck. Online is OKAY. Please help!!

Do you have to call Brad to get 3/8 or 1/2 oz jig heads from him? The biggest jig heads he offers on his site are 1/4 oz.

Just ordered a batch of 3/8 & 1/2 oz from Brads jigs. Arrived fast and look great. I'm sure he has just the heads in stock. Jigs were priced reasonably so I would assume the jig heads would be as well.

Question--
So for the 3/8 and 1/2 jigs, what is the reccomendation for hook size if using Owner wide gap hooks?
I am going to stock these at the lodge and would like to make sure I size the hooks to the jigs properly.

Plus-
Does anyone have a preference between Deap Throat-Wide Gap vs just Wide Gap? I like the looks of the Owner Deap Throat but not sure how they work.

AND--Will owner Deap Throat type hooks work with Do-It molds?

Need advise before investing a bunch of money setting up.

I used to use the Owner Deep Throat hooks for jigs but after ripping the lips on practically every fish I hooked I quit using them. I think they are too sharp if that's even a possibility. Even with a minor hook set the cutting point edge would rip clear through the roof of the snout. Since I release over 90% of the fish I catch, I wanted a hook that would not harm the fish as much. I switched to the Owner needle point hooks and they hook and hold without gouging a big hole in the process.

Concerning molds for these hooks I wouldn't know as I use solid brass beads instead of lead.

First Bite hit the nail on the head. After using the cutting point hooks for quite a while I have noticed the wound channel from the hook has a tendency to open up, kind of like a 3 bladed broadhead on an arrow going through a wound. Seems the point cuts on 3 angles instead of a regluar hook pressuring through tissue, stretching the skin and pressing through then the skin then collapses back around the hook. I have started going with regular point on everything and it it cheaper to buy the hooks.
