I was a long way off when I took this video. It was worse than it looks.
Some of the guys said he should have gunned it.
What do you think?

They were smart to turn around in that boat...I would have smashed it in my boat smile

Looked like typical Team eyeFISH weather in any of our major coastal estuary fisheries.

Yeah, I'd hit it.

wrong hull, could have quartered the waves, got wet a little, but no danger of "sailing"
But even if you got out, what then? Likely would be taking waves over the stern.....no fun.
Go home.

My Seaswirl would have handled that. BTDT at Sekiu many times. No freeboard and WAY too fast. Slow and steady.

Why get pounded. Pick another day.

That hull design is great for technically challenging water the equivilent of a koi pond.

It is just the wrong boat for those conditions and that body of water.

Safety comes first and the guy made the right decision but what is the plan next time he gets out then the weather comes?

Poor planning IMO and it is just a matter of time.

"She chine-walks a little at around 60, but after that she smooths out."

Pickle hunters just don't do slow and steady. Surprised these guys turned around.

With that sparkle boat....I would have left it on the trailer that day.I would have moved in closer like 10' off the docks in calmer water for the ride.Just sayin.Good luck,

I think you describe it well. I know we fished calm spots.

Yes, some areas are rougher than others. My uncles saw a race boat on too rough a water that stuck in the bottom when it went in nose first.

This video is on CNN right now of a guy obviously traveling too fast for conditions. He tries to throttle down... way too late, then gets tossed like a bitch!
Totally irresponsible captain IMO. The second time you watch it, watch the people in the back...Bikini girls dont look so happy... frown

OMG...

I watched that five times and i'll have to go back and watch it again. That was hilarious. One girl is checking her tooth while the other is blowing water out her nose.

I am sure it was a scary ordeal but it is like watching someone fall down a set of stairs or a wipe out on a skateboard- sometimes you can't help but laugh.

Thanks for saving a floundering thread SkyGuy and making my morning.

I saw that. The first time you watch it doesn't seem to show the whole impact of how they are getting tossed around.

Bald guy looked like he was knocked out. BUI! Boating while under the influence! OR, BWD Boating while drunk! At least he had the pleasure of two babes landing on him. Well maybe not if he was out cold.

I've hit a few boat wakes that rocked us a little but nothing like that.

This should be retitled the Once a Month Thread.

I hit a boat wake once too.

This is a serious sleeper thread. Boat wheelies and drunk-180s. Sweet JFC.

I like the sun glasses floating in the air and then the guy with the forehead split open, probably from those sun glasses!

Don't know why I didn't see all these replys?
The video with the bald guy and gals getting knocked around is scary.

Looked like he just passed out from fear, or stroked-out. Went over like a falling fir tree stiff & swift.

We was jacking those throttle sticks like a crackhead, one chick took it right in the face......lol

Maybe it is because you posted it in January of 2012?

That's a good example of a dude having ruff sex with a boat. Hopefully he does better with women!
