Been out fishen area 11

Put my boat in at DesMoines last thursday, fished the thursday evening tide with no action at 3 tree, same result with low morning tides friday and saturday. saw nothing being caught but with the tides being radical I did not expect much. Better AM tides are coming and its time for some blood sport.

Bud fished Dolphin pt with good results.

I love these big tides! The slacks are short but the bite has been consistent.

Buddy caught 27.5 lbr this AM while fishen the DesMoines Derby, so far sounds like the biggest fish.

27 lbr got 1rst plc and he got a bonus from Mercury cuz he bought replacement motor in last couple of years.

Been fishen W/P last M/T and gettin ancy 4 some more action, 2day was 2 rough 2 fish the low tide so I hung out with my wife, She threatened 2 go out in the boatwith me after her workout.
That happens about 0nce every other year???

went out 6 am sunday morning to 3tree, nothin happening there, crossed over to Beals freind had caught one early and saw 1 other caught, very slow. Came home and wife wanted to go out to get away from heat. bought 1/2 case of corona and set out around 2:30. just headin north with trollin motor(not fishen) got near 3tree and dropped down to 75' and mentioned my honey hole to her and whamm, she netted 12lbr 4 me trolled til 7pm and nothin else seen. Still very slow????????????

went to Dolphin this AM caught 12lbr at 6AM then the bait/fish were gone. Crossed over to LP and caught another 12lbr and decided to release it an catch a bigger one, mistake no other bites.. I do this to often---the fishen looks great, then suddenly shuts down, could have had limit by 9AM. Normally this time of year I can catch fish all day and give back the smaller ones and retain the 20lbr's. But the last 3-4 years has not been the runs that we had in Area 11, due to the northern areas being open last 3-4 years.////

Thursday went to LP and bud had one on but crackered it by not being able to get the pole out of the rod holder , he had the front part pulled over. I use the wire scotty holderscuz they work with my Islander reels.
2Day I went out at 645 HAD 2 WAIT 4 BROTHER WHO WORKS 3RD SHIFT AT BOEING. I missed fish right off and my brother caught 8lbr 20 minutes later I hooked a monster, he went west fast and we chased him, but using MR2 you can only reel so fast He crossed in front of 22' striper about 200 yds west of me and they slowed down but ran over it Breaking my line(300' ). a few minutes later i landed 20lbr and hour later caught a 23lbr
what a day?
Tomoro I will go out 4 a couple hours if I can sneak out, my wife likes to see me on W/E's, I have to go check crab pots
