Cook Island Fishing

Going to the Cook islands on Saturday,we will be staying on Rarotonga, Anybody do any reef fishing & what techinques or gear should I bring, due to the ciguatera consern it will be catch & release Thanks in advance, Doug

While this info may be some what dated, my wife and I spent some time there on our honey-moon 14 years ago, I wouldn't expect much in the way of reef fishing.

Inside the barrier reef was largely protected and didn't allow fishing and any areas that we're open were mostly devoid of life as the locals hit those areas hard.
