Correlation between solar storms and GPS?

Late last month the GPS in both mine and a friend's boat went blank on the same day. Later learned there had been a solar storm approximately the same time.

There was a larger event recently and I wonder how definate and probable the correlation might be.

Google knows everything -
I don't think the recent storm was powerful enough to cause any serious problems.
