Rotators as Spoons

Rotators as Spoons - 10/01/15 12:03 PM

I had some luck from the beach this morning with rotators. One thing that was interesting is that I got more bites with a steady retrieve of the rotator/hoochie combo than with the typical jigging action.

This made me wonder if the rotator/hoochie combo would work as a spoon in a river current.

Anyone ever tried?

Used them in the quil/cowlitz, really any big deeper water they're pretty effective. Especially if they're in a slot on the opposite side of the river from you.

Heavy cast masters w/ a hootchie on the back have great action as well.

Tried the cast masters after double stacking 2/5 spoons to great effect.

They work good trolled on downriggers. As long as you're not snagging bottom I think they would work great in the river.
