Looking at these blanks as a big water float rod. If there's anyone who has fished either of them and can give me a run down it would be greatly appreciated.

I've put a couple hundred fish across a 1382. Very awesome rod to target hatchery steel with. Only issue I've had is with a 30lb king owning me on that rod. Anything under 20 went just fine.

Sweet! Sounds perfect for brats and summers. Does it have a decent backbone if you ever need to put it on a fish? Thanks

I'd go to the 1383 for a little extra oomph.

Well I don't need it to be able to turn a king salmon, which the 1383 could probably do. I just don't want it flexing down to the handle on a 10lb fish.
