Not too concerned about the timing. This has needed to be done for a long time. At least it's only a few days of a likely to be crappy season that will be affected. Lest we forget, there are other launches available on the lower river in the meantime.

Well since I am a Local I can tell you that during the months of March,April, May, June, July, and August there was no one using the ramp it would have been the most logical time to do this. Your correct as far as other launches. The article suggest Fuller Bridge as an alternative. Good luck with parking and avoiding the meth maggots.

Sheesh. Tough crowd. Not saying anyone's wrong to argue the timing is questionable, but I'm going glass half full here.

I'm just glad they're fixing the thing.

I'm with Flea on this one. Get er' done. At least they're finally addressing it. And, it IS before the bulk of the fishery occurs there.

I can live with it.

The young man who wrote the grant application and locals who wrote in support did a good job. Permits & grant processes determine when work is done. The guy was ( is? ) a agency staffer at the bottom of the ladder who pitched in to help the local fishers. So frankly I imagine the fact that there might be some dislocation for a few was likely down the list a bit. To be blunt as a hammer use Friends Landing it is about 3 minutes down stream as at this minute your looking foolish yipping about being inconvenienced for 3 minutes in a boat. Good grief!

Better now, than "somewhere down the road".....I know how WDFW likes to "kick the can down the road", on projects.

Ask me about Wynoochee mitigation $$$$$$$, now approaching 24 years, that sportsmen are being shorted on hatchery Coho and additional steelhead.

When I look at the timing.....only 1 day, 9/16/16, when fishing for adults is affected, so I'd say it is well timed for a new 2 ramp to be built.

Chehalis river has a VERY LOW water flow, so probably good that limited boats are on the river.....especially if running up river from Monty launch OR running down from Fuller launch, high tide no problem but from mid tide to low..........mmmmmm thinking it would be a no go. [img]

Weak................but @ least they are fixing that POS ramp during low tides. Good luck,

It won't affect anything, people can use friends landing if they need to launch on those days. Adapt and overcome people!

With the full moon, minus tide on the 16th the ramp would not be usable in the morning.
I'm looking foreward to a better ramp. smile

Re: Good planning for Chehalis rv. - 09/06/16 09:13 PM

Stopped today, 9/6, work is in full go to completion mode. All the materials are there, old ramps have been pulled up.

There will be 2 ramps, but another boat will be able to launch because of how the area is being built.

This will be a positive for Grays Harbor.....just hope the fish show, so the new ramp can be used....

Time tells all !!!!!!!

I check on it everyday, good progress......will look good.

Must be "on schedule".....no work on Saturday, 9/10/16....

I'd post pictures but my Photobucket account is "not doing what I want it to do".

If we don't get rain or its not high tide.....DO NOT TRY TO RUN DOWN FROM FULLER HILL !!!!!!!!!!!
