The part I like about this study is that it seems to follow the fish to the redd. Just because a released fish swims away doesn't mean it survives. Should be some good information coming out.

On my first job I was the librarian so I "had" to read a lot of papers and reports. Some of the Halibut Commission tagging studies noted the "status" of the tagged fish on release. A number of the "dead" fish were recovered a couple years later and significantly larger.

Feed em a golf ball of cured eggs, pull on em with 50lb braid, net em, pose em, and slap your buddy on the back.

Oh they live alright.

I need to go back again.

What a fishery.
