Snoqualmie Tribe donates $15,000 to WFC - 05/31/19 10:35 AM

I am not much of a gambler but I do attend concerts at the Snoqualmie Casino as they are a non fishing tribe.

That all changed as of this morning when I see a $15,000 donation to the WFC. Bummer deal.

A huge thank you from the entire Wild Fish Conservancy staff to the Snoqualmie Tribe for selecting WFC as one of their 2019 Charitable Donation recipients.

This generous donation is critical to advancing our conservation efforts. Together with partners like the Snoqualmie Tribe we're able to more effectively preserve, protect, and restore wild fish and their ecosystems.

The picture of the letter posted shows a $15,000 donation.

I attended a meeting at the Issaquah Hatchery in 2009 (maybe 2008?), packed house. WDFW shared their PS Steelhead Management Plan, which included the death of hatchery summer steelhead in the Snoqualmie, elimination of off-site hatchery plants throughout the Sound, and creation of steelhead gene banks. A Snoqualmie tribal representative went up to the podium for public comment; the crowd's response was super negative and WDFW representative acknowledged that they didn't consult the tribe because they were not a treaty tribe... I guess they are now voting with their wallets.

Unfortunately, fisheries management has degraded into partisan interests before actual real world solutions. It is now a mad scramble to force ones objectives on to the rest regardless of how productive or destructive that may be.
All the “experts” being bought will kill the last salmon.

You cannot have two bosses with opposing agendas and expect a company to flourish anymore than we can expect a dysfunctional Co-management system to save our salmon.
