PSA Gig Harbor Derby 10 Aug

It's that time of year again! The 24th annual Gig Harbor Puget Sound Anglers salmon derby will be held on 10 August with weigh in and award ceremony at Pt. Defiance Marina. Tickets are available at Sportco, Pt. Defiance Marina, Narrows Bait and Tackle, Ace Hardware Gig Harbor and on-line at https://gigharborpsa.org/2019-salmon-derby/.

I've never fished a derby before.

Just bought 2 tickets. Now I have to find one of my buddies that is off that day..............

Just back from a PSA Gig Harbor board meeting and one of our members who works at Pt. Defiance Marina reported there have been some nice fish (low 20s) caught in the last couple of days.

In addition to the weigh-in prizes there will be a derby ticket raffle/ drawing to include a couple of really special prizes.

Be sure to deposit your ticket in the bin and if you bought on line be sure to exchange your Paypal receipt for a ticket to deposit. You must be present to win!

As additional inducements there are two special ticket drawing prizes; a Lowrance unit courtesy of Salt Patrol and a Sitka trip (air fare not included) donated by Fish Baranof.

And the club member with the biggest fish will win a trip to East Cape, Baja courtesy of Van Wormer Resorts.

Wow that is some big-time shwag! I wish I could fish it,

Buy a ticket and show up for the award ceremony scheduled to start at 4:00 P.M. at Point Defiance Marina (be sure to exchange your Paypal receipt for a ticket at the beginning of the ceremony).

Also keep in mind that buying a ticket puts you in the pool for the Northwest Salmon Derby Series' drawing for a fully outfitted Weldcraft boat.

Better odds than buying Lotto tickets even if you can't fish the Derby!!

Biggest fish weighed was 24.98# and it was caught by a PSAGH member so he won the 1st place prize money plus a trip to Los Barilles thanks to Van Wormer Resorts. And, yes, there were some pretty wet fishermen thanks to an early morning downpour. (rain gear....don't need no stinkin' rain gear (yea, right)).
