Not sure of all the details yet, but hearing rumors of two fishermen losing their lives yesterday/today, presumably on the OP. Stay safe out there everyone.

Not sure if this was related, but I just read a post on another board from the fellow who discovered this poor soul's body on the Sol Duc today...

One was Joe Jarzynka, former Husky football player.

Little Joe!!! The walk-on Husky who became the fans' , if not the team's , favorite punt returner for the couple seasons he played. Very sad. Have to wonder what happened. 45 is a bit young for a heart attack or typical medical emergencies.

So I wonder if there was a second victim. The report said Joe was fishing solo.

He was a hell of a player, especially for his size. Fearless.
As a punter returner, fair catch wasn’t in his vocabulary.
He also kicked field goals and pat’s one year when they need a kicker.
RIP Joe #21

My sis was good friends with him! So sad. She said he was a good dude and very experienced on the sticks and probably not a drowning. She thinks it’s more likely from the vax. She said he’s left leaning and probably got all the jabs. Hopefully he is hooking up and getting some good footage up in heaven!

I think I saw somewhere where Joe and another guy died.

The report finally came out. Jarzynka died fishing alone in his boat. Cause of death has not been determined yet.

Doesn’t seem very tasteful to start out with someone’s political affiliation and vaccination status being their potential demise in a boating accident when you obviously don’t know dick about what happened.

It's sad this happened. It should make us all think. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

The Sunday morning recovery of Mr Jarzynka happened not far from my house. We are lucky out here to have such dedicated 1st responders. I drove over the bridge as they were wading into the water below the bridge.

Later in the day I was fishing upriver and had a Rescue Helicopter fly over my head searching the river. When I went to leave about 3:15 or so there were multiple 1st responder vehicles & personnel at the launch above Bear Creek. This is where there might be confusion. The Forks Forum said the 2 situations were separate and they would post more details when they had them. I have yet to see an update from the Forum.

At this point I have not been able to find any information about a 2nd person being lost. Not sure if the morning response and the afternoon response were related.

Be careful out there. Mother Nature is a powerful, unforgiving force at times.
