RIP Ron Mager

My old friend Ron Mager passed away this week. Ron and his brother Russ ran Mager Marine Tours out of Seattle for many years then took their operation to Seward, Alaska. Ron was without question the best blackmouth moocher I ever knew. Using a steelhead rod with a 2 oz. mooching lead, the man was a machine. He was a great guy as well. The Magers had a "guaranteed" fish promotion. That often meant heading to the flounder grounds near Jeff Head. Many fond memories! RIP Ron.

Soory to hear. Not sure, but was he the same Ron that mooched winter blackmouth out of Narrows Marina back in the 80's? Never caught his last name. But was a good fellow moocher. If I remember right, the Ron I knew had a blue boat dry docked there back then. Miss those days.
