I just started learning how to tye flys, and I was wondering what shiny mylar tubing is used for. confused

It would mainly be used for bait fish patterns e.g., zonkers and tube flies. Even heavily weighted muddlers I have also used the pearl mylar for winging.

Save your self some money and buy a roll or two at your favorite craft store. If they don't have it in immediate stock, have them order it for you.

Try to buy the rolls with the poly core as you can save this for spinner wings, shucks and more. This material dyes good or takes ink well. There endless possibilites from the core alone.

hey downriggen I recently got a load of that tubing your referring to in for awesome colors, it has the rope or core inside, how do you use it with the core, do you take it out. Ben
