Got them all and never fly fished Alberta but have dowh hill skied it at Banff and Lake Louise. Beatutiful country !

to easy! got 100%. but i also know some people have trouble with the brook and dolly/bull trout diffrences. just look for the "worm" marks on the fin of the brook. the dollys dont have these type markings. it was fun though to make sure i actually knew what i was talking about. i think that might be a first! eek

To basic. Find one that test individual strains of trout.

I like to look at the dorsal first to id a dolly because they have a distinct non trout shape.

A few years ago I saw the first "test" Alberta did with trout identification; they had like 22 photos of 5 or 6 species in different positions, color phases, etc. The average angler got about half of those correct.

Seems the reason for doing the test was to see how well anglers could tell brook trout from Bull trout as Alberta had areas where both species co-existed, but only the brook trout could be retained.
