Did something exceptionally STUPID and busted a section of a custom C F Burkheimer 13-6 spey rod. In context, this is THE rod upon which I judge all other spey rods.
Couple of e mails back and forth with Rob Allen at Burkie, rods off to them (SOB!!) and back today. GREAT JOB, and to make it more interesting they even had to do a special roll of the busted section (now is that COOL OR WHAT????) to replace/re-wrap the rod.
HUGE KADOO'S TO ROB AND CARRY!!!!! Didn't plan on fishing tomorrow ... plans change! A good thing.
