The New Spey Casting book by Simon Gaweworth that is.

What do you think ?

I got it and am going through it now.

Clears up some things for sure, but not everything about spey fly casting and picking balanced equipment for effective casting etc.

After you've had a deeper look at it, please report back and tell us what you think of it. I haven't seen it yet. Actually, I haven't really thought about it. This spey casting is kind of a novelty. I've been fly casting for over 30 years and never owned a book about fly casting. However, this spey casting is a different animal, so maybe a book is in order. Personal casting instruction seems to be the most useful so far, however.

Sincerely,

Been fly fishing for 45 years, spey casting the last 4 years. Basically all trout, salmon, steelhead FF. The book has lots of pictures and clearly written text to explain the sequence of each spey cast which is definitely helping. Not many good spey casters where I am so videos and books are in order. Check the book out on Amazon you can actually review some of the contents online. Think its in the $ 30 to $ 40 range there a great deal, I paid $ 50 plus tax.

Only decent spey casting book to date so I recommend it along with a video if you do not have access to or the funds for spey casting lessons from a reputable source.

I didn't get the book, but I was surprised by a better book- Hard bound, limited edition "Come Wade the River" By Ralph Wahl, complete with one of Ralph's fly embedded on the cover page, personally signed by Ralph and Roderick Haig-Brown.
