Surf Perch?

Any suggestions on how to target these guys?? I'm going to Ocean Shores the last week of May, hoping to do a little fly flinging

fish the deep cuts in the beaches where food will be funneled into pockets where the fish can hold and eat.

Makes sense... Will my 5wt do it? What kind of flies do you suggest?

i have never fished them up here, but when i did it in CA we fished really heavy lines and basically drug the bottom with little sand crab flies, gremmies, or crazy charlie type stuff. Orange seemed to be the color down there. SMall clousers also worked in olive/white.
If you have the lines for a 5wt you could try it, but i would probably use a 6 or 7 and a heavy line to make sure you stay down.
