buffalo hair - 09/06/10 09:51 PM

Hey,
Don't know any fly fishing anglers myself, so I'll ask eveyone that visits this forum: Does anyone ever have a use for buffalo hair? I recently got a full robe tanned, and I trimmed up the perimeter a little bit. I thought someone might have a use for the hair for flys, or jigs or whatever. The length and coarseness varies from soft and fine and 1 1/2 inches to coarse and 5 inches.
Later,
Ken

Interesting. I started tying teeny nymphs with standard pheasant tails until someone told me that they used elk; need the longer hair. It works and sounds as if buffalo should work as well. Are you selling patches?
Thanks,
John
