Cle Elum in January

Looking for some good, wadable winter time fishing; either on the Cle Elum river or nearby in January. Not interested in the "mighty" yakima. Looking for smaller sneaky water.

Patterns? Set up? Access sites?
(I prefer no 10 mile hikes or long walk-ins, short simple trips are good; 1-2miles max)

Iv never fished on the east side, some tips would be nice.

The upper Yak above Cle Elum is far from mighty in size. Nymphing a size 10 stone with a bead head dropper under a bobber is the "go to" setup. Swinging and stripping streamers can also be decent.
