Weekend Wrap-up

Weekend Wrap-up - 05/27/14 06:23 PM

Things have gotten a bit stale here so I thought I'd post a report.
I had a pretty fun weekend fishing wise.
I ended up landing a number of different species on the bug rod, LM, SM, Perch, Crappie, Rainbows, Coho and SRC's.

Highlights of the weekend were as follows.

A guy totally blocking the boat launch at a lake with his flatbed truck....while sitting in his truck and his fishing rod sticking out the window while the stereo blasted some heavy metal rock tunes.

Went to hit the outhouse at the same launch to take a leak after fishing. I guy flags me down and asks if I'm going to use the head?
I said yes and he tells me....."Don't go in there dude! I've smoked a lot of weed in my time, but whatever [Bleeeeep!] the last dude smoked in there is really bad. It had to be meth or crack."
You got to love eastern Snohomish Co.

Having the fat chick with multi kids act like I was invisible while fishing.....rocks, sticks and dogs.

Lastly, having the heads locked up at a state park on Memorial day weekend. At least my Discover Pass allowed me to fertilize some state park trees.

LOL. I fly fished last weekend too. Friday with FF02 and we had a nice morning. Highlight was catching up with FF02 because it had been a while, followed by the crown in my coffee, followed by some nice fish.

Saturday I fished with my youngest 2. Highlight was my middle daughter (8 y.o.) driving the boat and taking pictures as a guide for me and the baby (6 years old) and we caught some nice ones. Fish were loving a small/sparse esl.

Nice job getting them into the big ones, RR. It was good catching up. Let's not wait so long next time....

Same ESL you were using on Friday?

Nice report, Stonefish. Sometimes the fishin's good; sometimes the people-watching's good. Once in a while, it all comes together.

Came together for me this weekend. Caught a couple nice SRC Sunday evening, and witnessed this on the people watching front.

Hit Lake Crescent yesterday. Pretty good fishing till the wind blew us out in the afternoon. A mix of Crescenti and Coastal Cutthroat along with a few Beardslee bows.
Here is a pic of a coastal cutt.

Anyone know if searuns eat Caterpillers? Lot of them getting blown out of the trees onto the local beaches.
