I used to want to visit Iceland to fish, but the rod fees they charge are expensive enough that I think I would just keep traveling to Norway or Sweden's affordable rivers.

The best thing about surfing in Iceland is that the beaches aren't crowded.

They have some incredible whitewater if you are into that sort of thing. I have a friend who did a backpacking and packrafting combo trip there and said it was the coolest thing he's ever done, he's done some pretty awesome stuff.
