I've had to hunker down behind the rocks a time or two over there. I've seen many float tubers take a one way trip to the wind ward side of the lake.

Wayback machine in full force there Chromer.
Thankfully they didn't plant any piece of crap triploids back then.
That was way before WDFW got hooked on them like crack.

The third year after rehab + fry plants = big hard fighting seep bows.
Wet rag finless triploids won't even come close. Had tons of fun for years on those March 1st openers out in the desert.

Chromer,
A 10 lb bow came out of that lake.
Last time I was there a picture of it was still on the wall at MarDon.
Caught on a silver spoon if I recall correctly.

But hey, you need triploids to grow big trout....;)

I was there that day, witnessed the event. And yes on a home made silver spoon. Rick gave me a few that he hand cut_ shaped & polished. Still have them.

He also caught a 7 lber on the same day, both fish came off the rock wall on the east shoreline
