Hey Vic, I might be fishing it with some friends on Sunday. If you go Saturday let me know how it is by this evening if you see this. Thanks. - Steve

RT, It sucked from Carver to Riverside. Talked to guys who also did the same. frown 8:00am to 6:00pm Inexperienced guys who I fished with, so maybe that had something to do with it. confused ....Fishhead Vic

Vic,
The water is dropping so you need to fish the faster deep tailouts. Most of the fish are holding in this water for better cover. Got a 25lber on Saturday. The evening bite seems to be better for Chinook.

I fished a boatload up from the mouth at Clackmette this morning (Sun.) to fish the lower river and our one yankdown may have made us the hot boat rolleyes . A few guides were still trying it without any bites. I think the rain rise during the week sent the fish flying up river with no fresh ones coming in behind them. Rags, 4 of us tried some of my best proven plugs thru runs and into tailouts after backbouncing good eggs in the deeper spots, and they just 'weren't home' today (maybe with a rare exception we didn't hear about). It was bad enough the we cried uncle by mid-morning and went home and watched the NBA playoffs. New fish should be coming in soon I would think - it's early May!

I know it has slowed down but the best fishing on the Clackamas is coming. Last year the bite was on around Memorial Day. We have been most successful running divers with shrimp and eggs.
