Has anyone tried using Coho surface flies for pinks? We used them at Neah Bay and caught alot of pinks on them. I was wondering if any folks have tried them further inland in area 8-2 or 9.

I've been routinely fishing Gurglers and Leland's Poppers for pinks, along with conventional streamer ptterns; so far without much success. I suspect that's because, to date, I haven't been fishing over any large concentrations of pinks. I'll keep trying because it ought to be an absolute gas. Glad to hear you did well in the Strait because I can't imagine they'd respond any differently farther in.

Heading to Coronet Bay tomorrow night to try for humpy. Will be trying a lot of different flies to see what works. Will post results Monday.

Coho flies trolled behind a boat that is. Not sure if your getting that confused with fly casting for pinks from shore.
