NF Lewis Regs - 08/26/01 09:31 PM

Ok, I'm just a little confused on the regulations. I can keep any chinook and hatchery coho. What about sockeye also know as silvers? I also know that I can only keep two adults. chinook = 24" coho = 20" silvers = ? Just want to make sure I know the regs correctly.

Silvers/Coho are one in the same. Sockeye is another salmon all together.

I have heard the term sockeye and silvers used for the same meaning. I'm glad I asked this board. Thanx fellas.

Landlocked Sockeye commonly referred to as Kokanee have also in the past been called Silver Trout. That is where the confusion may stem from.

Matt,

There actually is a small run of sockeyes that come back to the lewis.. I caught one by accident about 4 years ago. I beleive that small run if from the kokanee (land locked sockeye from merwin) that some how come over or through the dam in high waters. Then they went to the ocean and came back as adults.
