CLEARWATER !!!!

Wow.. what a day !!! B-RUNS rolling into the Clearwater bigtime. Can't remember how long its been since we hit so many big fish in the same day. If this river has been mean to you in the past, give it another try... It might be nice this time.

I have been invited by several well known Idaho guides to come fish it in december, I think I am going to have too this year, what should I know and where should we be fishing if we are in a drift boat.

Best drift boat fishing is right now. Later the fish stack up and its pretty much a jig and a bobber combat zone. Lots of good guides on this river. Saw Victor and Donna's guide service out of Lewiston put a bunch of folks onto fish yesterday. We fished the lower river in a drift boat.

Yeah, Jason Shultz of hell's canyon sportfishing is probably one of the best over there as well as Victor and Dawna and Mike Kelly of Hells anglers.

I began my steelhead addiction in the clearwater river.

I went to this shop in Orofino, and said "sell me what I need and tell me where to go". Twenty minutes later I was fighting my first fish. The people are great and willing to share lots of info.

I would stay away from Riverside sporting goods, this is the kind of shop that will tell you the fishing is red hot (when it's not) just to get you there. There is a reason the locals call him AlleBaBa, and his employees, the forty thieves. He is very high priced. It's 40 mi. to the nearest shop and he capitalizes on that.

I was going to hit it this weekend when my fishin buddy bagged out on me 12 hrs before we were going to leave. I decided to stay home and get the last minute, prepare for winter stuff done rather than fish by myself..... i feel a nasty flu coming on for about next monday and tues. If ya see a lonley looking dude in a white drift boat and a yellow dog, give me a holler and i'll take you for a ride. can't wait to catch a couple of those bbbbbb's
