Is the Columbia open for winter steelhead? - 11/16/01 11:28 PM

I just can't stomach the thought of drifting a small river tomorrow with every other person in the 2 states on a handful of clearer river. Why does this always seem to happen on weekends? rolleyes The Columbia probably has fishable water color. Is it open for winter steelhead as it does for summer steelhead? Thanks for any help. SdB

I believe it is open for fin clipped steelhead, howeber I have never had much success on the Columbia for winter runs. However, with the river still relativly low, you might have better luck. If you were to fish it I would concentrate my efforts at the mouth of the Cow, Lewis, or Sandy.
