Camera repair - 02/07/02 12:03 AM

Can anyone recommend a GOOD camera repair shop in the Tacoma/Oly area? My old pentax K-1000 needs a tune up. Shutter sticks when it is cold, and it's going to be chilly on the river while chasing Ike. I would be really PO'ed to catch that 20+ steelie only to have the camera crap out and not get pics before we release him. It is a 20+ year old single reflex, I think all it needs is a good cleaning. I'm willing to pay the price for good service. Thanks in advance.

Give Puget sound camera repair a try. He is located in Milton 253 927 7242 He has fixed about 10 of my work cameras over the past 5 years. Easy to deal with. laugh

Woodie,
Dude, I think you're trying to set me up for failure!! Don't you realize that I will have to drive past Sportco to get to the camera shop eek . There goes more money!! Actually, I spoke with the folks at Puget Sound Camera; they sound reasonable, so I am going to take my camera up. Thanks for the info.

If you don't have luck down south, drive up to Seattle and try Camera Clinic, they are in North Seattle, or Kenmore Camera, at the north end of Lake Washington. Kenmore Camera sells alot of refirbished K-1000's, and they have a website with lots of used gear.
