EAT IT! Used to catch them down around Brookings.
They are wonderful even with that ugly head. The meat is green and then turns snow white when cooked. I'd take it anytime. :p

Cabezon are good to eat eh?

Last fall we were fishing out of Port Townsend and hooked quite a few. My girlfriend's nephew swore they were the best, but I was having a hard time getting over their looks. At any rate he said he'd eat them if I cleaned them (I thought he just wanted the $$$ for catching the first fish....you have to eat "it" to win). After cleaning the fishing we left the boat moored in the marina and went out for some beers. When we go back we heard some banging around on the boat. We raced over thinking we'd caught a thief. Just as we arrived we saw the thief slide over the side and climb into the boat across the way....a sea otter looking for an easy meal. We never did get to try those Cabezon....maybe another time.

Caught a 6 and a half lb Blackmouth off of Pt. Defiance yesterday. Very little bait seen at all. A few shakers seen also. Jack

Area 10 blackmouth has picked up pretty good. Fished a derby sun and most of the boats took fish. 1st place was at apx 10.7 with lots of fish in the 5-7 pound range. We took our limit of 3 for my boat. Good enough for 3rd.

Want to give a shout out to one of my fishing partners ("Jersey Fresh") for getting an 19lb BM jigging a PWD up north. He's kind of a shy fellow, so I thought I'd brag for him. He was more stoked after releasing a 5lb ling. He still dosen't believe that's damn near a fish of a lifetime for a BM...paaaayyyycccee!

Hey Rock and all you BM fans, me and a bud smoked 'em up at Midchannel on Saturday - hooked 10, landed 4, kept a 8 and a 10 laugh Flat calm and warm out too. Nobody fishin' to speak of - all out on the OP I guess, and I didn't even get sealed this time. Man, I could get used to this cool
