Rod/Reel Suggestions? - 03/31/02 03:03 PM

My brother and I go up to Canada every summer to our uncles lodge to fish. We go twords the end of July and mostly fish for dog salmon(Chum). They range from 15 to 25lbs.

Was wondering if anyone could suggest a rod/reel setup. Im not looking to drop alot of money, maybe $100 to $200(USD). I think we use like 25 to 30lbs test. There are still some kings in the river so it would have to handle a 30 to 50lbs king.

Thanx!!!!!

(If anyones interested in the lodge we goto you can check it out here: http://www.tweedsmuirlodge.com/ The site doesnt have alot of pictures but this summer im going to take alot of pictures and setup a link on the site to a site with pictures.)

I like to fish chums on a TH 1021c. 8'6" 10-20# ($135) As for the reel, I like the Shimano Curado or the Ambassadeur 5500 c3.
