We made it!!!

We made it!!! - 05/17/02 02:55 AM

After a little longer than usual journey up the highway, we're safe and sound in our summer abode.

Some rotten weather, plenty of snow and rain, made for an interesting journey ... a minor mechanical glitch (new u-joints and a power steering pulley pump bearing) cost us a day, but no major snafus or breakdowns ... another successful journey that everyone ought to try in their lifetime!

Happy to be here and thanks to those who sent emails asking how things were!

Below we'll share a neat pic of the first hours of being in ... Fishgal got to see her niece (born around New Year's) for the first time and our local moose even showed up for the photo ops:)

Check the river reports page for more pix of our journey over the next few days and look for some fishey pictures very soon! laugh laugh

Glad to hear you and Fishgal made it safely, you have a lot of work (fishing) ahead of you. I know how hard your business can be, espescially during peak runs.
Have fun and we'll keep the fish in Washington busy!

Glad to hear ya made it Bob. I was wondering how that very odd looking wrap job you did on the boat fared on the trip. And how long does it take to unwrap something like that??? eek eek
Have a good summer up there and we'll see ya this Fall... smile

Hey Nebb ... We used heavy-duty pallet-wrapping material with a layer of cardboard wedged in. It finally started to loosen a little about 60 miles from Soldotna and I had to re-tape a few places where the beating of rocks actually tore through a whole layer of it and left some flapping. It never left the boat uncovered though and you would never be able to tell if it was barged here or driven smile

Save a few for me for when we get home !!
