Read the "North Puget Sound" section of the article. It's closed for the year. Bummer eh!

As the saying goes "There's always next year!"

A less than spectacular Elliott Bay haul. Oh well, the views are tough to beat...

Time to head south for awhile I guess. Then swap over to the coho after the first. It would be nice to know how many sport fishers caught this year. I went once and got one coho and one king that I know they didnt count. I am moored up the river so no checks up their.

July 12-14 WDFW estimates 198 chinook caught in Elliott Bay with 426 chinook caught and released. July 19 -21 WDFW estimates 170 chinook caught with 377 chinook caught and released. The fish checker count is not an official count. WDFW counts boats and anglers on the water, then estimates what the total catch should be. In the past, they have done fly overs to count boats. Total chinook catch is a negotiated figure with the tribes, the Muckleshoots count each caght & released fish as a dead fish (size doesn't matter), WDFW uses the mortality rate, which I don't remember exactly - it's like 12%. Last year the sport/tribe catch ratio was about 1:7, this year looks more like 1:10.
