Garmin 160 Blue - 10/19/02 05:09 PM

I recently pruchased a Garmin 160 Blue from Boaters World in Everett. It was taken off the display as it was the last one available. The simulation mode shows fish as arches. However, it is displaying only dots off of Mukilteo with a good bottom. When I turn on the fish symble it shows fish symbles. I have turned off all other electronics and checked the installation. I am curious if they are overselling the unit with the nice well defined arches in the simulation mode. I apprecate anyones impute. Thanks

Tim, we don't sell the unit because of the arch/fish symbol feature, all fishfinders have that option, all I can suggest is try what Aunty M mentioned and keep fine tuning, once you dial it in I think you'll be very happy with the unit.

TC, I too have the 160 Blue and I'm also confused as to why I can't get the nice arches on the screen as the 240 blue that a buddy of mine shows. In the instruction manual it shows the screen with acrhes as fish symbols. I'm still trying to figure that out. Let me know if you do please. wink
