Good 3000 size spinning reel? - 10/29/02 09:07 AM

I currently have Stradics in the 2000 and 4000 size. I am looking for a quality reel in the 3000 size and was wondering what other people have had good luck with. Thanks for any info!

I use a 2500c Regal X Daiwa and it works out great. Hope this helps.

I read on another board that Shimano was coming out with the Stradic in the 3000 model. I bought 2 Okuma Epic 3000's this past winter and have been real pleased with the performance of the reels. Landed fish up to 26 lbs with no problems. I did witness one have the handle disaster that a lot of folks have experianced, the fish did end up in the boat though. For $55 at Sportco they are a good deal.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff laugh laugh

My vote goes out to the Okuma Epix 30,with 10bb's and the smothest drag I've found on a spinning reel, all for around 55 bucks.you can't go wrong...........Os
