penn reels?? - 11/02/02 01:47 AM

i just recently aquired two penn reels my father picked up at an auction for $10. one is a penn 209 levelwind i'd rate at about 7.5 condition-wise and the other is a penn long beach 65 in almost brand new condition. are these reels good for anything? maybe for sturgeon spooled up with some 40# ande. i already own ambassadeurs and a curado so i might just be wasting space ( and adding fuel to the "you already have too much fishing [Bleeeeep!] fire).

the 209 will make a good all purpose saltwater/mooching/sturgeon reel, they last forever and take a beating as long as you take care of them

not sure about the long beach, i never really liked non level wind reels...maybe sturgeon or bottom fish(holds a lot of line if i remember correctly) :p
