The greatest choke of all time!!!!

Ladies and Gents of the football persuasion, you will not believe this story - I was there and I barely believe it myself

My Elma Eagles, last years 2A state champs by the way , played a state semifinal at the Tacoma Dome today against Lyndon Christian. Good team, outscored us 3 TDs to 1 in the first half and though we got within 5 points in the second, it was pretty much all over when our QB threw an interception with 1:30 to go. LC ran a couple plays and ran down the clock, we used our last time out, and on 4th down with 7 seconds remaining LC called time, the coach went in and gave them the final play, and instead of just taking a knee their QB ran around for awhile, ran into their endzone, and spiked the ball as the clock hit zero. Unfortunately for them, our defender instantly grabbed the ball in the endzone just before the final buzzer. Yep, those preppy showboat @ssholes gave us a TD to make the final score 20 to 19, and we are now going to the state finals next week instead of them

Now that, my freinds, is the mother of all chokes, is it not?

I saw that on the news. I could not believe it. What a game blunder.

Big deal,its high school football, who cares. By the way, lighten up on the kids, "showboating, preppy, A-holes"

Well AK, even high school ball should be played better than that in the playoffs. And whether it's the kids fault or the coach's fault for that stupid showboat play that was called, someone's face deserves to be rubbed in it, as that kind of cr@p is beyond unsportsmanlike and is not what any sports, and especially high school sports, should be about. I'm real glad that one backfired on them, and not just because my home team won because of it. This was a perfect example of why you always try to play the game the right way and not the showboat way

Ya i saw that in the paper. What a huge joke and yes I agree Spawnout. That's a very good lesson to learn. Play the game hard to the end.

That's also the reason you play till the whistle blows.
