Lewis River - 12/26/02 11:31 AM

Have any of you folks been out on either the east or north forks of the Lewis River? I've got a chance to get out this weekend and will probably wind up on the north fork, perhaps up by the golf course.

Thanks for any info.

Fished the East Fork on Wed for a few ours with no success. Didn't see or talk to anyone else that caught a fish. Water looked great, but nothin happening.

Fished the east Fork today. Landed one 9lb. native hen and a 8lb. hatchery buck. Hooked them 4 casts apart. Saw 9 other fish landed on the float from Daybreak to LaCenter. It was the first time drifting it for me. I couldn't believe the damage done to that river. Looks like a war zone going through the gravel pit. Saw more entire trees in the river then I've ever seen except for pictures of the Toutle after Mt. St. Helen's. The water looks great though and the fish are hitting. You just have to put in your time. Saw two landed at Daybreak as we were launching the boat. Good luck -

steelyman,
That must have been you that I spoke with yesterday ( your catch was the same. I was the guy on the bank with the brown stocking cap. Nothing for me after I spoke with you. I fished another two hours after we spoke.
See ya on the water
