Where is the best place to get a columbia river anchor setup? Any particular kind? Anchor weight? size of rope?

Not sure where you are located, but if you are near Seattle, I would give Seattle Fishing Supply in Ballard a call. They are located on Commodore Way near Fisherman's Terminal.
I know that is where most of the Oregon stores get them.

Sportco had them the last time I looked, Buoys and all. Or you can take the old trusty Digi-cam , snap a few pics and measurements and have the brother in-law weld one up for you. You can find info on the web on how many lbs you need for the the size boat you have.
Sportco had them for a decent price though, and they were galvanized, so just pick one up if you aren't into metalwork.
And no, its not going to cost $500 for that set-up.

3 rivers told me it would be $500 to have the anchor system put on the front of my boat.
