Ive had big Tom Cougars jump out in front of my truck before. I wouldnt want one on my ass. No way.

Kind of a crappy winter for both of those critters.

I think both are saying: I havent had sh!t to eat all winter and now I have to wrestle with your big a$$.

Wow. Was in that area a few weeks ago....Truly a beautiful area when it comes to wildlife and scenery....

The cougs have to be hungry....the wolves ate all the elk!

I bet that cougar finally brought that Elk down. He more than likely tracked the Elk's bloody trail and got another chance. Big cats are amazing animals. In the nature Cats rule!

My first thoughts were, either this elk was ill or injured, or it wasnt extremely threatened by the 150-170 lb cat.

1200 lbs of bull elk Vs. 170 lbs of cougar?

I'd expect a healthy bull elk would drive a brow-tine clear-through that kitty given a five minute chance to do it.
