Two Census Bureau managers fired for creating at least 10,000 bogus questionnaires to meet deadlines

Two Census Bureau managers from a Brooklyn field office were fired after their bosses found they faked household surveys to meet deadlines, the Daily News learned.

Instead of pounding the pavement and knocking on doors, the corner-cutting people-counters mined the phone book and Internet to make up answers to questionnaires, regional director Tony Farthing said.

The managers - turned in by whistleblower employees - were caught last week. Now, at least 10,000 surveys need to be done or redone, officials said.

Census officials in Washington only admitted to a string of incomplete forms and poor tracking in disclosing the firings Friday afternoon. But Farthing corroborated ..... http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/06/26/2010-06-26_2_census_bigs_axed_for_fakin_it.html

More than likely it was tea partiers purposesly sabotaging the constitutionally mandated census. Those people have already proven to be rather unscrupulous.

I've caught the elderly cheating more in card games than any others I've played with, bunch of old cheats... Anything to make a $1.

There are programs for you

paid in full so no worries ...

at least to those who dont get stuck paying for them

Those on Medicare now have been paying into it since roughly 1965. Many, like me, paid all our working life, but will never use it as we have better private insurance.

There are two major problems:

1. Health care has been getting more and more costly every year for many years. For at least 20 years health care costs have risen much faster than inflation.

2. We are older, fatter, and less healthy now than ever before in our history.

I watched a discovery special on obesity in America the other night. It was shocking. The health care costs we will face due to obesity are simply staggering. No matter who pays, or how, we are facing a health care fiscal crisis that will be mind boggling.

Well, that's because Pepsico/McDonalds/Nabisco and United Healthcare/Kaiser Permanente are running opposing games.

And all the big corporations want a piece of the pie.

Like Merck/Pfizer/Johnson & Johnson.........so they all have pills to cure what ails you.

So we eat 4000 calories a day, sit on the couch or behind a desk all day, and wonder why our health care system is in the tank.

If that isn't a good enough reason for the Government NOT to get into the health insurance industry, I don't know what is!!!

I think it's about time we start holding folks accountable for their own decisions?

I wasn't trying to say Govt should or should not be in health care. (In fact they already are – VA hospitals, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.) That argument has been done and redone. No new points to be made there.
My point is the cost will be huge no matter what. Nice to say let's hold people accountable. But are you ready to let a fat guy die when he has a heart attack, a diabetic die when their legs turn gangrenous, and a meat lover when he has a stroke? I'm not. So, how do we make them accountable? And how much can we afford, no matter who is the final payer?

So where's the problem?
Everyone who dies early takes a little more stress off the planet. How much crap does a lard ass produce a year? Where's that going? How much does he/she eat/drink? More for you when they kick the bucket, no? One less fat SOB on the river, or in the grocery line, or breaking the car seat while sitting in traffic. The fat fart probably plays Bingo at the Casino, too......huge loss when they kick the bucket. (pun intended)

Keeping 'em alive has to be more expensive than letting them kill themselves, don't you think?

Better Snopes it. smile
