Defense might not be a bad career choice these days with the Federal Gov. committed to spend over 25% of annual tax revenues on defense.... All the cronydefense industry indsiders are laughing all the way to the bank on this one, garunfukkinteed.

It's good to know where the money is going. Got to feed that military-industrial-complex, you know.

Let's just make sure to cut SS first if things get tight.

The latest reason is some idiot "conservative" created homeland security and TSA while reducing taxes. I'm no longer hoping "conservatives" will change I'm hoping whatever disease they share will prevent them from voting.

Myself I don't think it's prudent to cut defense spending at the moment unless it's HS or TSA. It'd be more of the same F'd up Bush era logic that got us here.

Very few are willing to speak out about cutting defense because there is always some "patriot" that will stand up and say that you "hate America" or "are risking our safety" or "weakening us". Most of that type of meme comes tends to come from southern/republican "tough guys".

And you can be damn sure that if something bad happens in the future (attacks of some sort), there will be all sorts of blame heaped on the people that "cut defense" and allowed something to happen that was "preventable".
