ill let people join up until the first game.

$20 season long buy in. I'll give the board (3) games each week to pick the straight up winner in each game (no spread, straight up). (1) Pac-12 game and (2) weekly "at large" games of my choosing. The (1) Pac-12 game will be a mix of Dawg, Coug or heaven forbid, Duck or the "Pac-12 game of the week". The (2) "at-large" games will more than likely be the BIG national top 25 games of the week. I'll give the weekly games on Monday and you make your picks by Thursday and after the games on Saturday, you'll be either 0 - 3, 1 - 2, 2 - 1 or 3 - 0 for that individual week. From week 1, you will have a season long tally of your W- L record for overall board ranking. We will continue through conference championship week and the final (4) playoffs (no minor bowls). The best record takes it all at the end of the season. Tie breaker is the final score of the National Championship game (when we get to it). No points or spread. Just pick games and get your W-L record. The winning amigo gets something cool (TBD) and a good cause gets some cold cash. It doesn't have to the be like the above example. I'm open to suggestions on the type of game but we only have about (1) week to get it sorted out.

Danny's already predicting Washington wins throughout winning the Pac 12 North, the Pac 12, and the National Championship like they did in 1991. Huskies ranked #8 in AP poll. At this rate they'll be in the top 4 before they even play a real game.

I will say it's always a good sign when your team looks in mid season form for the opener. Damn it's good to have John Ross back and a defense that just flat out thumps people!

With Ross playing like that, Jake throwing the ball as well as he did, and the D flying all over the field, these guys are living up to the preseason hype...so far. It was only Rutgers, after all, but you have to win these games, and convincingly, and that's what they did.

I look forward to seeing them play a better team than Rutgers!

Don't know if I've seen a better Husky opener than that. The Dawgs played exceptional ball on both sides of the ball as well as special teams play. We were a little one-dimensional on offense, but that's about it. The team looked like a mid-season team. None of the stupid "first game" crap that you see in a lot of teams.

We are not going to win all our games, but I think a realistic goal is to try to compete for a shot at the PAC-12 title and a good bowl game.

I'll be happy if we can just beat Orygone and ASU this year......

Two more practice games to work on a few things getting ready for @ Az. Hopefully showing Stanford exactly what they want on film. Meanwhile Stanford has bye, USC, @ UCLA, @ Wa. I'll take the weak ass OOC. There's just no benifit to be had under this bullish!t system for loading up on a tough OOC schedule. At least until 2020 when Michigan comes to town.

And get used to the hype. I wouldn't be surprised if Wa is favored in every game.

But that's just my perception from the 13th row. I haven't seen a Husky team with this much, depth, talent and discipline in a long long time! 3 penalties! The freshman and sophs on this defense would bitch slap any of Sarks offenses. I mean there's like five guys on this team faster than Beno Bryant!!! And I haven't seen an offensive line like this, especially the tackles, since the 90's.

I'm all in. I fired up the bus when I saw the "Prove It" base shirts pre game and then watching them proving it in that 1st qtr. Are they the best in the PAC? Don't know. But I can't wait to find out.

Now that the Coogs have (for the time being) blown their shot at the National Championship they'll win out. If, by the Apple Cup, it is winner is still in for the National, they'll win and then Coog it to a South team they beat during the season. If they don't have a chance at the National then they'll Coog the AC. Basically, they'll get folks really excited and then flop.

I did not leave off watching that game with a good feeling. If Arizona was beating us I would have probably felt better than watching us shitthebed repeatedly...we should have won that game by three touchdowns, but kept making stupid mistakes.

Stanford barely won, too, while playing an inferior team.

The Pac-12 can be that way, I guess...with the occasional outlier, the space between the top and the bottom is only a few teams wide, with all twelve of them crammed in it.

Watching Notre Dame completely implode is really satisfying...I'm surprised they weren't still ranked #18 when they were 1-2...I hope NBC is happy owning the TV rights to the shittiestt "awesome" team with the biggest dick of a coach, while that awesome team loses to a fuckin basketball team.

Hard for me to pick against the Dawgs, so there you have it. Clemson and Louisville are about as evenly matched as you can get, so flipped a coin on that one. I am rooting for the Badgers, but I think Michigan will win in a squeaker.

But any of those games can go either way.

There nothing that anybody on this site could write to make me feel better about Fridays game than Sol Duc spewing crap out his pie hole!

I did my part to get the Huskies to win - I picked Stanford.

I can be 110 years old and decades into the depths of dementia and I'll still never forget that day! As that was the day I became friends with my father. He never took me fishing or hunting but he has taken me to a lot of football games including that day.

I was 23 and with a 3:00 pm kickoff decided to dump my canoe into the Samamish river at dawn to do a little paddling around the Big Lake. A couple of hours later I had a mixed limit of rainbows and sea-runs including the biggest sea-run I've ever seen at like 24-25"s. By about 10:00 am as was at my folks house barbecuing up a couple of the trout for an early lunch. And for the first time in my life my dad handed me a beer. With a buzz I talked him into buying a half rack of brown bottled beer on our way to the game. As we each walked thru the gate you could here the bottles clanging off of each other. Apparently the ticket taker approved. About 5 minutes into that game everyone in the stands was rifling thru the media guide trying to figure out just who in the hell this freshmen #90 from Cheney Wa was!! By then it was at least 100* in the North stands. By halftime we were out of beer and both belting out "Bow Down to Washington" at the top of our lungs. And the lasting image from that day that I'll never forget is my old man at halftime, foot pounding on the seat rest behind him and fists pumping yelling with all his worth, "BEST DAMN HALF OF FOOTBALL I'VE EVER SEEN! BEST DAMN HALF OF FOOTBALL I'VE EVER SEEN!!!"

So yea, 60 years from now if I'm still alive and in the depths of dementia and the hostel nurses are wondering why I'm convulsing in my bed and muttering incoherently let it be known I'm pounding my seat back, pumping my fists and yelling, "BEST DAMN HALF OF FOOTBALL I'VE EVER SEEN!"

Not sure that makes me feel about Friday's game but I certainly do feel better thinking about that day!

My mistake! I said there would be two good offensive lines on the field Friday night. But there was only one good offensive line and one dominating, asswhooping defensive line !

Shaw didn't make a single adjustment that whole game. Once plan A didn't work all they were left with was watching plan A get systematically destroyed. They finally put points on the board late in the 3rd. Followed by a 16 play, nine minute drive and an easy touchdown! That is the definition of a total and complete ass-whooping!! It was certainly a beautiful thing!

WSU will beat the hell outta that team of Purple Rain wanna bees.

My crab buddy (PLU alum) had tickets for the WSU Stanford game. He always goes this weekend for the coasties fleet week to see either a Cal or Stanford game.

Missed the games as I was up in PA for the crab/seafood fest yesterday. Watching the WSU Stanford game on Xfinity now. McCaffrey was held in check again.

After a week of practice Stanfords plan B was still to sit back and watch plan A get systematically destroyed.

Yes it was. It is not a hard to follow blueprint to beat up their undersized lines and to pass all over their poor secondary...they better come up with something new or they will lose a few more this season.

On the football pool front...I did not have a good day. 1-3...watching Colorado shitthebed was bad enough...but watching Miami not only play poorly, but actually have a game tying PAT blocked in the final minute, was maddening.

Notre Dame getting beat again was great, and even though I picked them to win and they lost, watching David Shaw have to look like he was eating a turd again was totally worth it.

I really really really want to see Nebraska and Florida State win, but I just can't see either of them pulling it off this week.

The Ducks should clean up the joint with ASU, but after the last month they might just be too broken to even win an easy one...I hope not.

Cal's defense looked pretty porous.

My hats off to the Utes on a great game. Their d and o-lines are easily the best the Dawgs have seen yet this year. And a special tip of the hat to the Ute fans and everyone at Rice-Eccles stadium. They've got something special going on here. I've been to about 20 Husky road games and Utah is the only place that I plan coming back to just as soon as the schedule permits. Simply a first class operation and easily the best and nicest fans I've ever met!

Today's game day experience makes rooting for the Utes very easy. I look forward to seeing them in the Pac-12 Championship game!

Watched some good college football games yesterday including the Washington Utah game and Oregon State against Wazzu. Even if Washington would have been flagged for a clip I think they would have won. Washington is a complete team. I never gave up on the Cougs even when they were getting there arsess kicked 21-0. Saw some of the ASU vs Oregon game and some of the early east coast midwest games. You have to be good enough to overcome adversity. I would rather see an Apple Cup with both teams coming in undefeated in Pac 12 play. Wazzu should beat both Cal and Arizona at home. The Colorado game in Boulder is going to be tough.

I thought our O Line did a solid job of creating space for Gaskin, even with Eldenkamp out. The D line missed not having Mathis, as Williams carved them up at times. Big win, a solid test for this team.

FSU and Clemson have gone back and forth the last 10 years, I really thought FSU would pull it out at home, considering Clemson has been on the ropes a couple times this season. In the end, Clemsons D LINE was too much.

Wisconsin was an easy pick, Big Red was way overdue for a reality check.

Being managed from a perspective of spite, not reason. Being managed by a game manager that posts games a day late while picking a Thursday night game with 2 days notice and then gives quarter to some, but not to others. Some people have jobs, some people have a life. Call it "sour grapes" or "taking my ball and going home" or whatever you want to call it. I don't do BS. It didn't work this way last year when I ran it. I went into the hole 5x over anyone last year and paid out of my pocket for the gift card that went to said game manager. Children's will still get their annual money from my household, they just won't get it from this game.

I drank the OSU kool-aid like some here, against my better judgment. Dawgs played Bama tough, the D more than held their own. Bama's D was too much, our o-line didn't get much push up front, and their secondary took away Ross and Pettis. The outcome was what everyone expected, however.... I thought FSU would kick the schit outa Michigan, wasn't impressed with Michigan's QB all season, FSU was smoking hot coming in and with that talent in place will be fighting for playoff spot next year. The LSU outcome was expected, their defense is fukin stout, held Bama to 10pts this year, and had no problem shutting down Louisville. It was only a matter of their offense scoring Atleast 20. The SC and OK games should be good. SC and Penn should come down to wire, SC has too much talent and will pull it out in 4th....blah blah blah

One of our sons lives north of Columbus & he said there were a lot of dazed & confused Buckeye fans wandering around glassy eyed like the walking dead after the game. He's a dawg fan & doesn't care about Ohio football but he said their tailgate parties are great.

I wasn't really sold on Clemson early in the year. They should have had a couple more losses and really didn't look that great.
They looked like a totally different team against Ohio State.
I think they have a good opportunity to beat Bama. If Bama plays offense like they did against the Dawgs, they'll lose because Clemson will put up some points.

Bama's QB is kinda shaky, but he's surrounded by such talent that he doesn't need to bring much to the table.

Bama's defense is pretty solid at all levels.

This has the makings of a great game. I still like Bama to win it .

If Gaskin couldn't get wide, I don't know of any Clemson player that will. Bama is just too strong and fast side to side....and good luck running right at em'. Clemson will need a healthy dose of RPO spread & inside / bubble RB screens to kill pursuit. They are also need to go deep and hit a couple to keep Bama honest and out of a stacked box. It'll be a good game, but I'm probably going to take the Bama Boogers.

They'll also have to tackle. UW had a lot of times when the tacklers were simply shrugged off.

Firstly, remember that this is a re-match of last year's game which went 45-40 Bama.
Clemson gave them a ton of trouble and just ran out of time at the end.

Instead of trying to go wide against a fast defense, spread 'em out with your formations and run straight at the gaps.
While this dual-threat QB is screwing with Saban's defensive game plan.
Do it just like last time only a little bit better.

Looked like they didn't practice tackling (Scarborough) low at all.
Gotta grab them Bammers by the motors and hang on 'til help arrives.

Scarbrough is a beast and just swats defenders off. He's just too much 1:1. Clemson will have the gang tackle to be certain...which leaves other parts of the field wide open. If I were Clemson, I'd go almost 100% man-2-man on the corners and stack the box to stop Hurts legs and Scarbrough. Make the 18 year old beat you through the air. Also, bring some non-traditional blitzes (corners) on non-traditional blitzing downs and get into the kids head. Past that, not sure how to game plan for Bama. But that's why the coaches make the big bucks and I'm here on the internet....

Agree to an extent. Bama's D is WAY better this year and they have a serious ball control RB. Bama is amazing at closing gaps - its partially why they have so many defensive TD's this year. Not sure what kind of TE's or FB's Clemson has, but they better get those guys ready to play a bigger (sneakier) part.

Kiffin wasn't "fired". He had already accepted the FAU job a couple of weeks ago and this was all per plan. The NLI recruit signing deadline is Jan 15th, so Kiffin has to go manage that with his new team (final sales pitches etc.).

You know, having multiple people above 60% is pretty damn impressive. For a 14 week season, Todd is at 70%. That win % for straight up bets is as good, if not better than many of the professional vegas boys. Across any moderate length of time, anything above 75% is generally considered an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime season. 70% would easily pay the bills all day long + leave just enough for some decent hookers and blow.
