The federal court process in Oregon found that the ranchers and patriots were within their rights, it was an armed occupation not a protest and the law in that situation was on the Bundys side. I have no doubt they will be aquited in Nevada as well.

Regarding the Oregon and Nevada standoffs, what ultimately will happen is federal, state and county agents will end up being prosecuted for all kinds of crimes and tort violations. Plus, gen X and boomers were put in a perfect situation to succeed compared to later gens. You had internet opportunities and economic opportunities that may never again be available. We live in a much less opptimistic and bullish time and how is that the young people's fault?

Younger people have a very good work ethic IMO, it's just a lot harder to make anything of it. That's a challenge we embrace too. We don't whine about it like older folks whine about us.

As regards manliness, particularly the perceived lack thereof observed in today's America, look no further than the statistics on father absenteeism. The statistics are shocking, but the results are not surprising. Boys raised without dads don't all end up screwy, but the vast majority of them do. Hence, today's American "male."

By the numbers, I'd be surprised to learn there aren't at least a few deadbeats among us right now, piling onto the poor little snowflakes their ilk has created. Sad state of affairs.

Dead wrong, the vast majority of people in my high school graduating class owned houses by 25. A substantial number of them also owning their own businesses. So, what you are really doing is attempting to divert attention away from your behavior that was judged. According to my 1988 edition of Webster's New World Dictionary (whose cover proudly states "#1 New York Times Bestseller," "Over 25,000,000 Copies In Print" and "The Best Dictionary Available"), judgment and judgement are both correct, it just depends on how you learnt it. Most teachers in America favor the former spelling because it's more popular, but they also consider Ebonics a valid form of English as well. The latter version is closer to the original old English root word judge, so that's why I favor it. The judgment version comes to English via Norman french, where it is used in legal proceedings with the specific meaning of a judicial decision. As I'm sure you are aware with your legal training, many Norman French terms are used in the common law system and while they may resemble English words, they have a specific legal definition.

So, judgment = judicial decision and judgement = an opinion or conclusion. At least that's how I learnt it, see Fowler's The King's English for more details. Also if you read the King James Bible, it uses the judgment version when referring to God. So in my judgement, you shouldn't be making judgments because that's what God does and the Satanic court system pretending to be God does, but you should be making judgements because if you don't make judgements you can't believe in anything, including God.

Government schools don't want students making their own judgements, opinions or conclusions, so government school teachers censor that version of the word. Government schools want to get students in the court system where they will have judgments against them in order to seize their life, freedom and/or property, so that's why they promote that spelling. It's a subtle but effective brainwashing technique.

I don't speak Government Newspeak or Ebonics (except to mock someone as a form of satire). I came into the world speaking the King's English and I will go out of this world speaking the King's, gnomesayin?

That fish in my avatar is not cross eyed and was a monster buck! Caught at the stair step hole the last time the Skagit was open for c&r. It was one of those runs where all the line melts away and you get nervous and start walking downstream immediately. That reel is 4.5" across to sorta put it in perspective. I landed it at the mouth of the Baker River where it went very deep like a chinook in the dead mans hole. My guess is 18#.

Later that season, the same thing happened again on April 5th. I thought I had 20 plus steelhead but it was just a 20 plus Spring so I was butt hurt.

I miss fishing in the Spring on the Skagit that was my main fishery back in the day for me and its closure is probably a big part of why so many folks around here are such cranky a$$ cracks including me.

Trust me.................I wish you 206ers had the Skagit back year round as well.

I just have to say how wrong you are about him being a snowflake. He is very stoical with a brief and terse, laconic humor, so it probably goes right over your head. He has a wife, kids, jet sled and he fishes all the time with them on the weekends when he is not working.

He is a smart man who pretends to be simple but his sense of humor betrays his sharp wit. He is no snowflake, he just has better things to do than crack jokes about some snowflake who is too dumb to even understand them. So when he comes back on Monday, I'm sure he will reply with a clever oneliner making you look incredibly stupid. It's kind of like what I do, but he is wise enough to do it with less words.

Also, he does wear Carhartt jeans, you got him there. You could even take it further and make fun of him for wearing men's fit Carhartts jeans. It's the men's fit part that is important, not the Carhartt brand. Carhartts are just one of the only brands that haven't changed their cut since the good ol' days back in the 1980's so still makes men's pants in the men's fit.

GUARANTEED. So, dealing with idiots and the stupid problems they create, day in and day out, tends to start to suck after a while. So what you really need is a moderator to moderate the moderators, but then who moderaters the moderators' moderators.
