Just use a string and a couple empty coors cans.

I'd go Busch.
They're all over up there.
And Jetline. Better transmission than regular string.

Schitt, there goes another secret.

The other way is to just yell.

Handheld CB won't do you much good in the mountains..too short of range.

Best bet for emergencies would be a satellite phone, or even an EPIRB..

The way to go is to get a handheld Baofeng radio and a HAM license. Then you can reach anyone, anywhere + get police scans, weather and emergency broadcasts etc. You should be able to buy a radio and get certified for a couple hundy. You don't need to be certified to listen, but you do need to be certified to transmit.

This is an good model

Ham operators have a high incidence of certain cancers. It probably wouldn't be a good idea for Evo to stand next to a wind turbine while transmitting on his handheld...

A HAM would probably cure whatever it is that Evo's got. thumbs

We used to use CB radios but the range was limited to a couple of miles while we were fishing in the canyon. Used them camping with kids too. Our cell phones got [Bleeeeep!] service. Our buddy had a satellite radio. In fact I've got a buddy who sells satellite radios mostly to commercial fishermen but they are pricey.

Used the scanner too to find out the commercial or law enforcement traffic in the canyon. Used a CB in the rig to communicate with the log trucks and announce if we were going up or down the road and the milepost when we did garbage bag runs for SOLV.
