Guitar Tone

Guitar Tone - 03/14/20 10:21 PM

I have always felt that guitar tone was under looked. The preferred tone for many may be subjective, but all the greats "sound" like themselves.

Ted Nugent once played Eddie's rig and said "how come I don't sound like Van Halen"?

It's in the fingers. Guitars and Amps help too,but the player makes the tone IMO. It is what is great about guitar IMO.

This particular performance shows why Angus and Malcom were top of the heap.

Oh I had a Les Paul through a Marshall tube amp JCM600 that I modded out. I was running a few pedals through the clean channel, but that guitar I sold and the gear all belongs to my nephew, I have a really nice acoustic now. Been considering buying a little knockaround electric, I have a couple little practice amps now. If I were to get serious again I would get a Telecaster and either an Orange or a Fender tweed, something kinda vintage. Maybe an SG through a Laney if you want to destroy the neighborhood.

It's cool. The White Stripes was just so different than anything at the time, and it gives me hope that someday,SOMEDAY,music can be good again on a grand scale. For now,it's really sucking on a Grande scale.
