Garcia drag question.

I recently disassembled one of my reels. Its one of the cheaper garcia models. Eventhough its a cheap model, it seems to be a decent reel. The problem is, since I oiled it and put it back together, the drag sucks. It holds tight and lets lose in spirts. Does that make sense?? So it will hold tight, and let loose a bunch at once, and then hold tight again. Did I put it together wrong? Any suggestions?

my calcutta reel had the same syptoms, made a visit to antique anglers for some new drag washers and DRAG GREASE. if you assembled with oil you might want try some grease on the drag componets. give it a shot, it may do the trick
