Blackmouth fishing - 07/11/03 05:57 PM

Cant find my reg booklet. And I havent fished for kings in the sound for quit a while and want to again. When are the seasons on out there?

If its ok to share, where are some of the better spots and can you do any good without downriggers? Would we have to use like an 8 ounce banana sinker off a stiff sturgeon rod or what? rolleyes Could get down a hun or so with that.

Thanx

The places Ive fished in the past would be ok. That would be launching around the corner from Alki beach and fishing Elliott Bay near the prop wash of the ferry boats parked along the waterfront. Been long time since Ive fished near Anderson Island or Johnson Pt. in the south sound but when its good that would be cool. Ive never fished off Jefferson Head and other places further north in the Sound and would like to sometime. But I dont even know where the launches are. Ive seen Jeff Head from shore on the upper Kitsap Pen. Nice looking water.

For the best general info on places and techniques to try, look up salmonuniversity.com. All the regs are on the WDFW webpage, and all the boat launches are on the IAC boatlaunch homepage. Look all this up in Google.com. Computers almost make it too easy anymore rolleyes
