Breathable Wader Repair - 05/27/04 10:01 PM

Anyone have a recommendation for breathable wader repair? I have a small puncture in my waders and have tried Duraflex by Complete Angler and it didn't work. If you know of a good product and where I can get it please let me know. I tried the same stuff on my Neoprene waders and it didn't work on them either. I currently have two pairs of waders and both of them leak.

Aquaseal. It won't breate there, but it'll be water proof.

Mine started leaking on the seam so I took Aquaseal and put a small bead on every seam and then smoothed it into the seam with my finger. It worked great.

Aquaseal. You can buy the same stuff at GI Joes with a different name on it as tent seam sealer, and it's cheaper. Same manufacturer, same graphics on the package, same tube, same smell, same application, just 3 dollars cheaper.

According to Bill Herzog of STS fame: try vinyl hot dip. get the same color as your waders. He said in one of his STS 'TIPS' sections that this is the best stuff he's used hands down.

Hi All
I callled Dan Baileys when I had a leak and asked what was best. The guy explained how to use the patch piece that came with it. I cut it to the proper size, placed it over the tear and heated it with an iron to melt the glue. Worked GREAT. Very simple with no mess etc.
