Area 10 reports - 12/20/04 04:03 PM

Fished Manchester Sunday with DD jr and defrag in the Coho Mojo and UMrules and RIck68 in the Salmonella....lots of shakers and a Sand-dab...UMrules came close to a legal BM by an inch. Saw a couple other boats out there, but not sure how they did. Wind picked up just after noon and pushed some pretty big waves into the boat launch at Manchester making it extremelly difficult recovering the boats. We ended up getting both boats out less one cell phone without instance, but there was an old fishing boat on the other dock unattended that broke a mooring line and was slamming pretty hard against the dock. Unfortunately, the dock broke loose in a couple places making it too dangerous to go out there and secure it. Hope the owner was close and there wasn't too much damage.
How did everyone else do???

I'm surprised you gave it a go on Sunday with the bad forecast.

Saturday was beautiful conditions. Only managed one barely legal keeper near Kingston. Lots of shakers.

Is anyone finding any BM of any size out there?

Saturday was definetely the perfect weather day to be out there, but I had already made plans to visit "Downriggin" who was giving his "Blackmouth" class at Sportsman's Warehouse. I figured I'd stop by and give him a little moral support. He actually put out lots of good information and had a pretty good turnout of fisherman.

Unfortunately I didn't make it Dave... Sounds like I missed the wave jumping contest- unlike our Narrow's Derby two years ago (40-50kts winds!)

SQ... We've been picking up just legals down here in 13.. I think my biggest has been 6.5- where are they?

Not really sure how bad the dock is at Manchester. The dock you use to launch didn't look too awful bad; I think one of the pins that hold the docks together broke loose. Shouldn't be too much of job repairing it.
Is the city responsible for repairing that???

I launched yesterday at Manchester. The docks looked ok with no visible damage. The weather was great, 1000x better than Sunday, but no fish. Marked a little bait before the tide change, but it was dead out there. Just one sand-dab, that was it. I ventured into area 11 and there was nothing happening there either. Oh well, it was nice to be out on the boat in decent weather. I guess it's time to hit the Cow for some winter steelhead for the next month.
